2010 P.E.L.T. 4th of July Celebration
July 3, 2010... An afternoon of good food, fun, and weather was enjoyed by over 200 participants at the Annual Project Eagle Lake Trout (P.E.L.T.) 4th of July Celebration hosted by Mike and Kate Arnold of and at the Eagle Lake RV Park in Spalding, California.
Saturday's events included an adult horseshoe tournament and a kid's casting event. Hotdogs, hamburgers and strawberry/blueberry shortcake were also available making it a very festive, patriotic event. Tim Noxon was once again the leader of the now famous 100 ka-zoo band as they performed the Star Spangled Banner. Local fishing guides were present with their boats to answer any questions about fishing Eagle Lake. A very patriotic parade sponsored by the Spaulding American Legion was enjoyed by all. Sunday morning saw the end of the festivities with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Spaulding Volunteer Fire Department.
This annual event raises funds to assist in the stocking of the great Eagle Lake Trout and to enhance the fishery in other ways such as lighted bouys on lake hazards, supporting of a DFG intern, and gathering eggs from Pine Creek as the fish migrate to spawn just to name a few.
Thank you to M/C Sep Hendrickson and all the voluteers and participants who made this another very successful P.E.L.T. event.
